Shelter Road is a transparent shock and scratch resistant adhesive tape. It provides a reliable protection to the carbon-fiber or metal structures its applied to. Road is perfect for lighter off-road riding or gravel/cyclocross applications.

Exclusive Features:

An ultra-thin film of 0.6mm offers robust surface protection against scratches and impacts, adhering firmly to even curved surfaces. Surprisingly lightweight, it won’t discolor over time, making it perfect for preserving the integrity of carbon and metal components. Additionally, it has a visco-elasticity that reduces vibrations.

How it works:

Shelter Road has a 0,2 mm scratch-resistant upper layer with a gummy (viscoelastic) 0,4 mm layer underneath. This unique, composite construction allows Shelter to spread impact energy within its structure, without transmitting it.

Shelter Road (0,6 mm thick) is best for lighter off-road riding or gravel/cyclocross applications. Shelter Off-Road (1,2 mm thick) is the thickest Shelter, and its perfect for heavier duty off-road riding. Shelter ZeroDue (0,2 mm thick) is great for protection of road bikes or surfaces mostly subject to wear and friction, like crank arms.

UV-Resistant:

The shelter is UV-shielded so it wont turn yellow over time and will even protect the underlying frame paint from UV degradation.

Visco-Elasticity reduces vibrations:

The transmission of vibration energy through any structure can be reduced by introducing visco-elastic materials at discrete points. Its exactly what Shelter does, providing stiff carbon frames with protection but also contributing to reducing vibrations.

Easy to apply:

Adhesion of Shelter is defined semi-structural, so very strong but not permanent. After being applied, it takes Shelter 8 hours before developing its optimal bonding. After that, normal bicycle use or washing wont affect it, but it can be removed if needed without damaging the underlying paint.

Application of Shelter doesnt require special tools or procedures, just normal skills and patience:

Clean the area to be protected with alcohol and a cloth, removing any cables or obstructions. Wipe away any leftover alcohol and use a dry cloth. Cut the included pre-cut element to fit or create a custom piece, without removing the backing paper. Avoid touching the adhesive surface, as fingerprints will be visible. Align the element correctly, and remove the backing paper. Begin applying pressure from the middle, following to the edges, to avoid air bubbles. Insure that all edges and tight curves adhere properly to the surface.

You can use your bicycle immediately after applying Shelter, remembering that the full adhesion is achieved after 8 hours.

To remove Shelter, peel it off slowly, making sure not to delaminate it. Doing so, Shelter wont leave any trace of glue on the surface it was formerly attached to, even after several years.
