The Humanitarian Medal was introduced in 2023 to recognise individuals who have supported His Majestys Government in responding to significant humanitarian crises, both in the UK and overseas.

This prestigious award honours those involved in life-saving operations, disaster relief, and humanitarian aid under challenging and often hazardous conditions.

The first recognised operational awards include service relating to:

• Morocco Earthquake (September 2023)
• Libya Floods (September 2023)
• Ongoing Gaza Conflict

Eligibility is determined by HM Government and awarded to individuals working in public service or approved organisations contributing directly to official humanitarian responses.
